What this is and does
LDM is a general-purpose link and file manager, which handles user uploads and downloads in a flexible way. A range of media players is integrated into LDM and others are included as plugin extras. LDM is described below in the first post of this thread, which also contains a brief list of the currently-known bugs.
This release of LDM works correctly with all VB versions 3.6.x and recent versions of vbadvanced.
got a problem with ldm 2.2.5.
When I place an external link to a AVI file (that users can download) ldm shows the url to the external domain. Although this happens only with Internet Explorer. With Firefox everything works fine. But when they click on the link with internet explorer the real path is given and instead of saving/opening the file IE just shows the code of the file (a page full of charachters)
how can I solve this?

Have you set up mimetype information for avi files (VB/admincp/attachments/attachment manager -> Content-type: video/avi)?
Thanks. Currently, the 'add entry' form includes a text box for associating keywords with the new entry. This text box is 'Ajax' enabled, so you will be shown which matching keywords are already available when you start typing. You can choose to ignore this list, and any new words you specify are 'auto added' to the database.
As I understand, you would prefer a select box which lists the currently available keywords.
So, I have these questions:
a) Is this what you are asking for?
b) What happens if there are a lot of keywords defined - the risk is that the select box will be so long that the page will never finish being displayed.
c) How will you add new words to the list?
Oh... well, you are right, ajax could be a lot better, all i need is to be able to add kewywords while adding a new file or while editing a single entry.
I apologize if this has been posted, I searched, couldn't find anything, but that never means anything.
We are having an issue with our Links & Download manager, but we don't know if it's related to another issue we are having so I went into admin and closed all the categories. I assumed this would shut everything down so that no one could download anything else.
When I go into the actual Links & Download Manager area on the site, on the top it shows:
Allowances: 20 files/1 used
[Closed]
But all the downloads are there to download.
Did I misunderstand what the close feature was, or is it just not working right?

Closed means closed for adding new entries. Everything that is already there remains there and accessible, and admins can also add new entries.
If you want to temporarily prevent downloads from the category, use Edit Category/User Group Permissions. You can set permissions which over-ride the master set. Be aware that these will also apply to any subcategories in the category concerned, unless you re-override them there.
