DownloadsII

DownloadsII is a download database that integrates into vBulletin. It allows you to upload files, add images to them, create categories, link to external files - and more. It is very flexible and has many options.

Because a lot of people keep on asking this:
This mod works with any version of vBulletin 3.7.x and 3.8.x!

It's also coded 100% XHTML 1.0 Transitional valid, just like vBulletin itself.

Help!!! I can't upload large files??

This is probably the second most asked question. Have a look at this post for the solution.

It doesn't work with GARS?!

If you also use the latest version of GARS, you will get the "Fields marked in RED must be filled in!" error when uploading a file. I provided a fix here on the GARS forums.

Addons

We are offering 3 addons for this mod at the moment (have a look at the bottom of this post for them). DownloadsII contains 5 hook locations for the vBulletin plugin systems, so you can add extra functionality without file edits.

• ecDownloads Buddy is NOT compatible with this version. If you are using the Buddy, you should UNINSTALL it before installing DownloadsII ver 5.x.x. The Buddy's features are now integrated into DownloadsII.

Feature Request: The Ability to Add an Agreement they have to accept before they download a file but the agreement can be attatched to specific files and whole catagories

IE : before some one downloads a file they have to accept somthing like this..

I agree not to distribute this file in any way shape or form.

Then it would have a Tick box [] accept [] decline ..if they decline they will not be allowed to download the file

Does that Mod work with 3.7.4 PL1 ? Before I try to install it I would like to know if its working fine with that Version.

Also one other question about the features of the Mod.

1.) Can user upload files ?
2.) If User can upload files, can the user that did also later edit the file in case there was something needed to be changed, without starting a new File again so there would be.

But when I try to import files of a folder, i got a OPEN BASE_DIR error.

My PHPINFO shows the following for that parameter:

open_basedir	/var/www/vhosts/mydomain.com/httpdocs:/tmp	no value

Any ideas how to fix that ?
And I tried with an other Download Script (not vB) that I could mass-add Files there without the problems with the OPEN BASE_DIR setting. Why is that different here with the Import, which is kinda the same ???

P.S: Original Domain is replaced with "mydomain.com"


Also there is something I don?t find from the Manual. How to make the Uploaded Files show up on a Users Profile.

What now ?

Well, as far as the MEMBERINFO thing is concerned, you can't find it because those were the instructions for the original release of the mod, vB 3.6. I don't think an update has been made for the profile page of 3.7.

I'm not sure on the other one, but I was under the impression that you couldn't upload file folders. You'd need to ZIP them first.

It doesn?t say that you need to zip them, and as far as I see that you only have to put the path to the folder where the files are in, as absolute path, and then the script would read all of them and you can do the rest of the process. But because of this error i can?t get to that part to continue. I am sure someone before must have had this message before.

And I hope that someone that had this also can tell me hopefully how to fix this.

So basically your trying to add multiple files at one time. I really don't think that's within the parameters of the modification if they aren't ZIPped.

You?re 100 % sure about that ? Because nothing in the Mod (as i found til now) states that the files for IMPORTING has to be zipped.

If so, wouldn?t the Mod say that at some point when you?re trying to import something ? I just am not sure about that Error. Is anyone around that has first hand knowledge of that and can confirm this ?
