There's a vB4 version of this mod available: https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/showthread.php?t=231427
DownloadsII DownloadsII is a download database that integrates into vBulletin. It allows you to upload files, add images to them, create categories, link to external files - and more. It is very flexible and has many options. Because a lot of people keep on asking this: This mod works with any version of vBulletin 3.7.x and 3.8.x! It's also coded 100% XHTML 1.0 Transitional valid, just like vBulletin itself. Instructions & Support You can find an installation manual in the zip package (Readme-Install.txt). We try to answer most questions asked in this thread. Please don't send any pm's if we don't ask for them, as we said we try to give a high level of support in this thread. Don't forget to click the install link, so you will receive important update notifications. Screenshots & Live demo At the bottom of this post, you can find 6 screenshots of the front-end and back-end (AdminCP part) of the DownloadsII software. You can see the newest version in action at the Minatica.be Downloads (Dutch). Changelog (version 5.1.2) Jelle
Help!!! I can't upload large files?? This is probably the second most asked question. Have a look at this post for the solution. It doesn't work with GARS?! If you also use the latest version of GARS, you will get the "Fields marked in RED must be filled in!" error when uploading a file. I provided a fix here on the GARS forums. Addons We are offering 3 addons for this mod at the moment (have a look at the bottom of this post for them). DownloadsII contains 5 hook locations for the vBulletin plugin systems, so you can add extra functionality without file edits. Do you want to help expanding DownloadsII (if you are a coder)? Would the update affect any changes to templates at all?

Adding that information to the frontend wouldn't be a good thing for privacy imo. No, there aren't any template updates in this new version. If there are any template updates, they won't overwrite your template changes automatically. So you would need to revert them manually and redo your template changes, just like vBulletin template updates. |

http://us3.php.net/ftp The reason for this is because my uploads are timing out considering my shared host has a limit of <= 2MB and users are trying to upload 25-120MB files. |

1.) He makes a downloads directory on his local server where the forum is, like it should be. 2.) Now via the Add files option, one can upload files, or link to files. If you link to files you need the complete http://siteof.files.com/filenam.zip and the length of the archive. So If done like this, he should be able to host the files on another server and link to them through downloads II. Or am I missing something? |

thanks for the update. In the future I would love to see an option that is a dropdown menu that allows you to either indicate the size in bytes, kilobytes or megabytes instead of bytes - converting mb's to bytes is a drag. Thanks again.

If you have full server access, you can edit your php.ini (PHP configuration file) and edit the size there manually. If you are on a shared server, you can put a .htaccess file in your forums directory (where you can find downloads.php) with the following content: Code:
php_value upload_max_filesize 25M php_value post_max_size 25M Quote:

An argument against this is the fact that bytes are more accurate. And it's pretty easy to know the exact size of a file in Windows: just right click it and choose for properties. There you can see the size (don't look at the "size at disk", that's not the real one). |

Hi, is it possible to create an extra text field for the upload name say like i got 3 chapters of manga and i'm only allow to upload one at a time and instead of writing the whole name in the name box "one_piece_01", I want to have 2 text fields for
Name: one_piece Chapter: 01 it will combine those 2 text fields together (seperated by "_" or anything I want) to make it become "one_piece_01" Also, I've tried the to put in my forums dir .htaccess with: php_value upload_max_filesize 25M php_value post_max_size 25M but it doesn't work, it gave me the error "500" for the whole site, anywhere i go i got that error. If I delete it the problem is gone, any suggestion? |
