You can now allow your members to use vBCode OR HTML via their User Control Panel to add text effects, color, even smilies, to their Custom User Title.
The latest version, 3.0, even has a built-in vBcode and Smilie Panel for your members! There is even a preview panel at the bottom of the Editor!

Installation:

5 files in ZIP

Install_CustomTitleEditor.php - A PHP file you run to install the new Admin CP settings (only for new installs)
NewInstallation.txt - For new installations
Upgrade.txt - To upgrade from previous versions of this hack
LesaneStoreHack.txt - To integrate into Lesane Store Hack - do this AFTER you install the hack.
ShinraPointsHack.txt - To integrate into Shinra Points Hack - do this AFTER you install the hack.

I installed this on vB 2.2.9 and it wont work. Well, administrators can use HTML in their user cp (they can anyway!) but no one else can. However I put the settings makes no difference. The coding wont have any effect even for Super Moderators. vB code doesn't work at all.

Mmm... since this works on my site, and on many other sites, I suspect you installed this hack wrong. Try reapplying the hack again, following each step carefully.

Can I enable this for certain groups and not all users?

You can choose between all users, or just moderators. Anything else requires code changes to my hack.

i got a major problem
i installed the first part of the hack and now i have 2 entries in the database for the same option
how do i remove one of them

2 choices:

1) Go to phpmyadmin and delete the extra entries manually.

OR

2) Go to your admin directory, and run the setting.php file.

Go down to the extra entries and click REMOVE.

The 2nd option is by far easier.

MAJOR UPDATE!!!

Version 3.0

I've added a Custom User Title Editor, with vBCode and Smilie Panel, to make it easier for your members to use vBCode and Smilies (and optional HTML) to spruce up their custom user titles.

There is even a Preview Panel at the bottom of the Editor, to make it easier for your members.

Also, just for fun, I added options to integrate with Lesane Store Hack or Shinra Points Hack.

To be honest, this was easy to code for my forums, but to write out the instructions to be released was a headache.

Updated ZIP file and instructions in first post.

This hack is backward compatible with the older versions - just follow the Upgrade.txt instructions.

There may be bugs, as the code used here is different to how I use it on my site. Let me know.
