As of September 2015, the Panjo marketplace mod for vBulletin has been completely rearchitected.

You can learn more about the latest version of the mod on Panjo's vBulletin partner page.

This mod enables you to launch a peer-to-peer community marketplace that is integrated into your vBulletin forum.

Here is how it works:
1) Install the plugin.
2) Customize the categories you want in your marketplace.
3) Contact Chad at Panjo: chad@panjo.com to activate your marketplace.
4) When a seller goes to a new or old subforum dedicated to buying/selling/trading, and clicks on the "post new thread" button, the mod will load a listing creation form.
5) The seller will create a listing. The listing will appear in the marketplace. A synchronized copy of the listing will appear in the appropriate buy/sell/trade subforum.

Is this plugin free?
Yes, this plugin is free.

Can you make money with this plugin?
Yes, you can optionally use this plugin to generate marketplace transaction revenue.

How is it with mobile?
The marketplace loads with layouts that are optimized for high res desktop, tablet, and mobile.

Examples:
Porsche Marketplace <syncs with> Porsche classifieds subforum
BMW Marketplace <syncs with> BMW classifieds subforums
Audi Marketplace <syncs with> Audi classifieds subforums
Belly dancing marketplace <syncs with> Belly dancing classifieds subforums

Perhaps we need to do a better job describing this plugin. I'll review the language to make sure everything is clear. We are aware that many plugins have a lite version. This plugin gives you and your members a PCI (payment card industry) compliant marketplace that can optionally process payments. That can't be accomplished with a tag in your footer. It also can't be accomplished without a middle man that processes payments. All transaction data has to travel over a SSL (secure socket layer). Thus far, none of our partners have had an SSL certificate. They all rely on our SSL cert for the encryption of the transactions and any other sensitive data.

This plugin is 100% free for forum owners. A seller can use this plugin 100% free if he/she chooses to collect a buyer's payment through another tool. There is a fee for a seller if a seller chooses to use the plugin to collect, verify, and transfer a buyer's payment. There is a fee for the seller if the forum owner chooses to implement listing, promotion, or final value fees. This plugin optionally enables a forum owner to initiate a new source of revenue generation.

101-999 = 3.00

It sounds like you are describing a listing fee. If I understand correctly, you want a seller to pay $1.50 for the first 100 items he sells and $3 for the next 999 items he sells... At this second, this plugin does not support listing fees. A listing fee feature is coming in about 4-6 weeks from today (2/18/13).

At this moment, the plugin supports final value fees that you can customize at the usergroup level. For example, if you have "new members" and "donating members," and if a new members sells an item for $100, you can optionally charge some % of the final sale price, like 1% or 0.5%. And if a "donating member" sells an item for $100, you can optionally charge a different % of the final sale price like 0% or 0.1%.

(but now I also see Shawn's reply...If they opt for pay pal it should bypass your system not be routed through it... I guess I will offer to buy a version as I described but AS I stated I want no outside anything...) I would prefer they be able to use pay pal...(I see that was mentioned as an option) So how are you making money for this if they do that?
Example... a seller sells an item for $100 on your site. The buyer pays with a credit card. The seller chooses to use Enthusify to collect, verify, and transfer the buyer's payment. The seller chooses to have the buyer's payment deposited to his PayPal account. Assume you choose collect a 0.5% final value fee on all successful sales. The seller will receive $96.50. Enthusify will collect $3 - most of which goes to credit card interchange fees. You will receive $0.50. The seller will NOT incur additional PayPal fees.

At this time, for the reasons I mentioned in a post above... PCI compliance, SSL encryption, we are not working on a version that is standalone. The costs to develop such a system would be too great for most community owners.

Sorry - I am not sure what you are asking here.

At this time we offer the following sorting and filtering options...
Filters:
Show "Active" listings
Show "Sold" listings
Show listings without images

Sorting options:
Date posted
Price
Item name

You can customize the categories to align with the organization needs of your marketplace. You can route the listings into designated subforums dependent on the category the seller assigns to the listing.

For transactions under $300, a seller incurs lower fees using Enthusify than PayPal. A seller doesn't incur both Enthusify and PayPal fees. Enthusify fees: 3%. PayPal fees: 2.9% + $0.30

Total fees to complete a transaction with Enthusify if you sell an item for $100: $3.00
Total fees to complete a transaction with PayPal if you sell an item for $100: $3.20
PayPal fees are 6.7% higher for a $100 sale.

OK,
I was again asking about the listing fee as an Option...
( i did see what you said that's cool I will check it out when you update this thread) since I would rather charge a rate for that .

And the numbers, I guess I should have added dollars signs to them 1-100 and such...
but I thought I was talking about money, I should have been clearer..

I will wait and see how it all comes out in your next release then see...

I do not like a Big brother grabbing cash,
I do understand development cost Look at V bulletin and sites in General..

But I do not quite get the SSL reference I am on SSL, with a Certificate...
also and pay pal link to their site is encrypted, so I really do not see a problem...to add a Logo to click to go secure...

The deal would be...
I could have a merchant account using Pay pal, and they also help set this up as a secure payment process or you will not be selling things like that.

To say, because you had to do the research,
I see templates mods all over the place in here,

You just have a way to route back, seems simple strip it down and sell it for forums to choose,
If the service you provide... is leaps and bounds above what I could do on my own site with no outside intervention ,
Then of course I would Opt in to the game..I would think It would sell itself.

But in the end we all care about our end users here, for the most part, or why even bother with a VB board...
we could all stick some HTML up and sell items and create stores..

I will keep and eye on what happens here and watch the others and decide for my self at a later date...
But I do appreciate you answering my questions and for the response altogether...
Thanks again...

Paypal's MAX fee would be 2.9% + transaction fee, but that has a range depending on how much business you do through them and what type of account you have. Plus if you use the Paypal debit card 1% of that is reimbursed and you can get Paypal fee's as low as 1.9% if you do volume.

The added advantage of Paypal is that you have control over your money and you have it instantly as well as many options to control security and what sorts of payments to accept and reject.

I don't want to argue who's a better payment processor but when you're profiting from your product and offering here, you're breaking the rules. You don't have a version of your product that you're allowing people to use without you getting your hands all up in their business, that's the point.

Nobody likes to pay for anything these days, folks are always out to get a freebie. In my vast experiences of dealing with folks, one gets exactly what one pays for when a "freebie" is involved. [/Social-commentary]

Thanks for this Mod. I'll be giving it a try in the upcoming days.
