As of September 2015, the Panjo marketplace mod for vBulletin has been completely rearchitected.

You can learn more about the latest version of the mod on Panjo's vBulletin partner page.

This mod enables you to launch a peer-to-peer community marketplace that is integrated into your vBulletin forum.

Here is how it works:
1) Install the plugin.
2) Customize the categories you want in your marketplace.
3) Contact Chad at Panjo: chad@panjo.com to activate your marketplace.
4) When a seller goes to a new or old subforum dedicated to buying/selling/trading, and clicks on the "post new thread" button, the mod will load a listing creation form.
5) The seller will create a listing. The listing will appear in the marketplace. A synchronized copy of the listing will appear in the appropriate buy/sell/trade subforum.

Is this plugin free?
Yes, this plugin is free.

Can you make money with this plugin?
Yes, you can optionally use this plugin to generate marketplace transaction revenue.

How is it with mobile?
The marketplace loads with layouts that are optimized for high res desktop, tablet, and mobile.

Examples:
Porsche Marketplace <syncs with> Porsche classifieds subforum
BMW Marketplace <syncs with> BMW classifieds subforums
Audi Marketplace <syncs with> Audi classifieds subforums
Belly dancing marketplace <syncs with> Belly dancing classifieds subforums

Thanks a lot. I hope to see it in the future also for the european market.

Just one more question:

The most solutions gave up after a while and so my concern is, if you don't pay your server I will loose this solution very fast.

Is there a backup strategy for installing it locally on my server if you don't want to work in the future?

I don't mind paying you a fee for the payment stuff, but never to know if your server is running or not is not really a thing which I like :-).

You want to take away my server load which makes you being a good friend to me, but this is also my nightmare. That I depend now not only my server, I know depend on two servers.

I also like the idea never to uprade my software because its installed on your server but in this case I open my server totally for you, right?

A kind of wish would be to have your solution also as a backup on my server in case you guys don't want to run the business anymore.

Sorry, but I saw so many genious solution just flipping away to soon and I had quite a lot of work because of that ;-).

Stefan

I've been begging him for a standalone (self-hosted) solution for ages

I would happily pay a decent amount to purchase the software and then a set annual renewal fee, it could be way more than vBulletin as the classifieds bring in money. However, IMO, they are focusing on the wrong model trying to get a % of sales.

It might help to show an example. Here is the Enthusify plugin powering the marketplace on this site:
http://elightbars.org/classifieds.php
The plugin "injects" a copy of each listing into a designated subforum(s). Thus, you end up with a back-up copy in thread form. If you have the plugin installed, the thread version of the post and the Web 2.0 version of the post in the plugin sync. When an item sells, both versions update. Here is that same marketplace in thread version:
http://elightbars.org/f87/

The Enthusify marketplace plugin for vBulletin can route the thread version of the listing into corresponding subforums depending on the category assigned to the listing for larger sites with marketplaces broken into different subforums.

We appreciate your on going support!

In case it isn't clear, when a seller lists an item for sale, the seller chooses whether he/she wants to collect payment or whether he/she wants Enthusify to collect, verify, and transfer payment. There is no fee if the seller chooses to process the transaction. Enthusify's fee is currently a flat 3% - which is less than PayPal for transactions under $300.

uninstalled this about as quickly as I installed it. I vote it for worst mod of the year, stay away. These guys are just trying to steal a buck. Don't waste your time with this like I did.

evershawn - did we issue you a marketplace id? did you ever actually install it? what did you not like? we have a lot of very satisfied partners. We handle hundreds of transactions a week. In the last four weeks, sellers completed over $350k in successful sales. And, buyers and sellers can use the plugin completely fee free.

And with most honest plugins you can use the software's lite version simply by adding a tag in your footer and not having them middle man all of your deals for you. Very intrusive and misleading.

Here is My list of Real world Questions that Either I saw some mentions of but I was sending an E mail so I will list my questions as if
That is still what I am doing...

Ok I could spend a few hours reading all of the concerns of others and all of the responses you have made...

I started at the beginning at started reading and this is close to what I want...

First I want an integrated system like this, I am running VB4.2 Patch 3

Next I do not charge anything on my site but would not mind making a residual small fee for something like this...

The first concern I have is Can I charge members for transactions on my site like with increments... Is it scalable?
0-100= 1.50
101-999 = 3.00
1000-up =10.00

Next do they still have to pay 3% overhead because that is a big killer ..(I see where they can decide to pay outside of Your service)
I see where you stated 3% later in page 8...
(but now I also see Shawn's reply...If they opt for pay pal it should bypass your system not be routed through it...
I guess I will offer to buy a version as I described but AS I stated I want no outside anything...)

I would prefer they be able to use pay pal...(I see that was mentioned as an option) So how are you making money for this if they do that?

How long is the shortest time before the funds are released in the system,
Pay pal uses and instant payment plan with a dispute that can after resolution be returned to the seller...same as Ebay since they are both owner by PP

Ok so say, I do not like the payment options and do not want outside sources on my board and I only want members to be able to sell to other members and I do not want any links not even in a footer...or adds since I am strictly against that...(from outside sources)

Have you considered selling a Version where the site owner alone can have everything I mentioned?
without being in your system? Just the software with all customizing options I am mentioning now.

With the drag and drop the integration into V bulletin with my own choices allowed for check out, since If I use a pay pal system they again will mediate all of the transactions and no matter what the outcome I can allow the re-listing like e bay without monetary responsibility, back to me if a charge gets reversed?

Ok, I like the platform for the reasons it is clean and efficient right now, I have a trading place set up with individual states more like a
Craigslist thing and it is huge...

I assume you are using a listing index of items,
Could I offer these features like , based on location broken down by states and have the item list a post in the proper states so users can narrow down items they could drive to and pick up in person?

Can they also narrow down a search to find the quickest delivery time / pricing like Ebay does? and Craigslist regional?

Ok that should do for me at this time...

My Last Question is for EverShawn...
What do you mean exactly please clarify...if they are not involved in the transaction since you could go member to member and you could also use Pay Pal to complete?

I am just trying to wrap my mind around this one a bit better before I jump in...

Thanks for any responses from anyone...

Even for Paypal, the money will be going to their paypal first, they take their piece then send the funds after they've held on to it for a while. They have their hands in to everything with the ruse that this is just a great deal with enhanced security! It is nothing more than passing a far more enormous fee off to the end user.

I think it's very misleading, intrusive and super expensive if you consider how much they take. I'd rather use something that I have control of.

In fact, are they even suppose to be putting PAID mod's here? This is a for profit / paid mod, there is no 'free' version. This should be removed from this site and marketed with adwords or something like everyone else does that tries to sell paid or for profit mods for VB.
