This is a cut down version based on a backup system written by Trigunflame for vb 3.0. It is a simple vBulletin cron trigged php system that does a dump of your database - either as one complete file, or as one file per table. Especially useful now that IB removed the old ACP backup option in vBulletin 4. Files can be (G)Zipped to save space.
All the options are located in the ACP in vBulletin Options >> vBulletin Automatic Backup
To install, download and unzip the files, and follow the instructions in the text file.
History:
v4.0.1 : 28-Dec-2009 : Initial release for vb 4.0.0 Gold. v4.0.2 : 29-Dec-2009 : Added ability to block process larger tables. v4.0.3 : 27-Jun-2010 : Added Gzip option.
v4.1.0 : 04-Dec-2010 : Updated for vBulletin 4.1.0.
v4.1.7.0 : 16-Oct-2011 : Updated for vBulletin 4.1.7.
In my case, I had normal backups in last server, vb4.0.6. Now new server, vb 4.1. Manual backups work, but the file is not created.
So I get no error messages, but also no backup file on my directory. Permission is 777, and I get no permission error message.
Any ideas?
haha same with me
but on my case i login to my cpanel via https://domain.com:2083 it's fine
bakup file on there . but when i trying login via http://domain.com:2082 my database not on there
You change the permissions on your chosen backup folder to 777.
Thanks so much for this mod, it's unbelievably helpful. I got it working without any problems and I'm not great at this.
I only have one question, isn't setting the permissions to 777 just asking for your database to be accessible to anyone especially if you have your backup folder called something obvious like "backupfolder" or similar?
Update:
I changed my backup folder name to something not guessable, but also changed my permissions to 733, ran the backup and it worked fine. After changing the permissions I navigated to forum/*backupfile name* and got a 403 error (which is fine) but the backup is on the server.

AFAIK you can change permission backup name to 644
