[DBTech] Advanced User Tagging v3 (vB3)

Advanced @User Tagging Mod: What is it?
DragonByte Technologies is proud to present [DBTech] Advanced @User Tagging. This version introduces several major new features that users have requested, and some others we were unable to fit in v1.0. The @user Tagging mod is designed to increase activity on your forum by allowing members to mention each other in posts when talking about them. This is done in a very easy way, very similar to how Twitter mentions people. We use @ ; as the tags, so for instance you could say: ---- This new mod from @Dragonbyte Tech; is pretty cool. ---- The ?@DragonByte Tech;? Will become a link to the DragonByte Tech users profile, it will also inform DragonByte Tech they had been mentioned, and link to the relevant thread/post via a new area in the profile section, as well as a new tab in the shoutbox. It also allows members to ?tag? the thread for specific other members by inputting their usernames in the tag box above the posts of the thread. This is a great way to increase your forum activity with no extra admin input required ? people will start to mention posts/threads to their friends, which will increase the amount of posting. This is especially useful of forums which have an international contingent (so threads posted in during the night for some of your members don't go overlooked) or forums which have a lot of posts/threads each day ? again to make sure that a post a person might want to read doesn't get lost in the crowd. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- If you like this mod please hit the button to the right ----> Please remember to click the, button to the right if you installed the mod ----> What does 'Marking As Installed' do ? * It helps you to stay on top of updates - members who have installed modifications will be notified by us whenever new updates are available. * For security issues - vbulletin.org will contact all members who have installed a modification whenever a security issue is brought to their attention. * Marking a modification as installed also helps us know how many people are using our work, giving us extra incentive to provide more features and new modifications. We appreciate the support! ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Priority support & Product Demos available at: http://www.dragonbyte-tech.com/forum.php ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Translations available @ [url="http://www.dragonbyte-tech.com/forums/91-Translations[/URL] Support for translations handled by the translator in its respective threads only. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Major Features Twitter-style @ "Mentions": Typing @username produces a "Mention" that will alert the user to your post, as well as link to their profile. Quote Alerts: Members you quote will be alerted, ensuring that discussions can continue smoothly even if they left the thread. Profile Integration: Displays Mentions, Tags and Quotes in profile tabs for quick overview of a member's activities within the mod. Complete Feature List Lite Emails:

I don't see why that should time out for you then..
It's most likely not able to find the parent forum and keep looping infinitely, but according to that it should have no problems doing so. Did you try what else I put in my previous post? |

Just a pie-in-the-sky idea for the future - would email notifications be a good idea? It would have to be controllable by the member in question, of course.
In addition, does it follow permissions (I'm thinking people the user has ignored)? |

I did, and I don't get that fatal error anymore, but the two options in my ACP still gives me an internal server error. So I cannot set it up.
EDIT: And I still dont have the little speaker on my editor toolbar. |

It doesn't follow Ignore no, but the Pro vrsion has an option to only allow notifications from friends. Quote:
As for the speaker icon, can you check your BBCode manager to see that the BBCode exists? It's [MENTION] |

Yes the [MENTION] BBCode is there. EDIT: OK, I managed to fix the Internal Server Error, it seems to have been a permissions issue in my FTP. So now I do get this error in some threads again: Fatal error: Call to undefined method vB_Template::fetch_template_raw() in /home/thebull/public_html/forums/vbseo/includes/functions_vbseo_hook.php on line 25 And the BBCode is still not showing. Thanks! |

If you click Edit on the BBCode, does the image path show?
If yes, then it would appear that the image can't be found. Can you link me to your forums and I'll be able to tell you whether I did something wrong here ;p The vBSEO error is a bug in vBSEO, they don't use the correct method to determine whether it's running on vB3 or vB4. They need to use the following code PHP Code:
Please report it on the vBSEO forums and they should be able to fix it |

When clicking on 'edit' inside all the options there is a "Button Image (Optional)" field. In there is this : "dbtech/usertag/images/mention.png" I had to disable the mod otherwise I will get those VBSEO errors. But let me know when you want to check it, and I will enable it again. My URL is: http://creativx.net/forums/ Thanks again for your great service!! |

Not that it matters until the vBSEO issue is resolved, but I'd still like to know if I was doing it wrong |
