[high]Staff Edit/Update[/high]
I have released an updated version of this hack (version 2.0.1), this version fixes some security issues with this hack. All version prior to this one allow users to insert html in their shouts, this can cause problems with them using html that breaks the site layout or malicious javascript. Download the new zip file (vBshout_fixed.zip) and upload the new vbshout.php file to patch/upgrade. If you want to manual instructions they are in the zip file, in the file bugfixes.txt
Second Staff update
I've uploaded a new version of this hack, dubbed '2.0.2'. This one should fix the html injection issues without breaking special characters. To upgrade, download the new zip file and upload the new vbshout.php file.
Please note that this only fixes the html injection issues. I do not use this hack on my own forum (although I've tested this on a client's board) so I will not be fixing the server load issues. I suggest you do not install this hack if you can't deal with the extra server load, as it's rather intensive.

When I installed vbshout2.0 on vb3.6.5 a little problem arose with the PMs. When you click on a PM to open it a blank page is displayed. If I disable vbshout in Manage Products the PMs work fine again. Anyone experienced this or have any idea how to fix it?
Addition: I should have mentioned that I have installed the "vbshout 2.0 in one forum only" hack.
I installed this hack about 3 weeks ago. It was on one page, and some members were requesting to have it on all pages. i installed the hack to put it on all pages. Works great, except for now some of my users are experiencing blank or white pages when attempting to read any PM's .. When i disable the vbshout, the PM problem goes away. When I re-enable it, the problem returns.
Does anyone know what the problem may be? Or has anyone else had this problem? Any help is GREATLY appreciated.
Thanks,
jj
PS. Just read the post above mine. Sorry for the duplicate problem posting. galey801 and I having exact same problem, and my environment is same as galey801's is, except if i read it right, galey801 hasn't installed the vbshout on all pages hack. That tells me a lil more as that was my next test to see if it is the vbshout hack, or the shout on all pages causing the issue. thanx. jj
<a href="https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/showthread.php?t=147346&highlight=AJAX+Shoutbox+fo r+vBulletin" target="_blank">https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/showt...+for+vBulletin</a> this one seems better
i have installed ajax shout 2.0 but not cool feaTures like this one and some bugs like cant shout " , & etc.
if i wanna install that one then do i uninstall this ajax sb 2.0?
wht to do for that?
I uninstalled vBShout, but I still get this error message every couple of days by email.
I feel like it is just a simple thing, something I am overlooking, so I thought I would just ask you real quick, how do I remove what is causing this error message?
The table doesn't exist, so why does it still get referenced?
Database error in vBulletin 3.6.7:
Invalid SQL:
select count(*) as `ts` from vb_shout;
MySQL Error : Table 'vBulletin_forums.vb_shout' doesn't exist Error Number : 1146
I realize that, that's why I uninstalled it but there are still lingering references to vBShout in my vBulletin. How would I remove those items such as the one mentioned?
Oops, I noticed vbshoutwol and vbshout.php were still in my directory. I thought I had removed them. They're gone now. Let's see if that works over the next couple of days.
How do we remove the forumhome_vbshout template that still lingers in vBulletin?
