Hey everyone. The last couple of days I have been getting e-mails titled:
vBulletin (Forum) Database error! With similar messages to this one: Database error in vBulletin : Link-ID == false, connect failed mysql error: mysql error number: 0 Date: Friday 12th of August 2005 01:42:31 PM Script: http://www.xxxxxxxx.com/forums/links...=link&catid=14 Referer: IP Address: xx.xxxx.xx.xx I have run repair in both vBulletin and cPanel for the site, with no problems showing up. has anyone else come across this item? The messages of course are different for each occasion a problem has arised, I don't know if it is a vBulletin problem or the SQL database, any suggestions would be welcome. No new MODs added or recent changes in the forum. The forum is still up and running, I am just worried some people aren't able to post. Thanks for your time. Best regards, |

This is mostly caused by the server being overloaded. It just means that the MySQL server didn't respond in time.

i had that on my forums too! but mine happens every like 30 minutes..... is there anything we can do to prevent this from happening?
i also find that when that error happens i get logged out, as do the rest of the members who were online at that time... |

If it is happening every x minutes, it is probably due to a job running on your server. I see it a lot of times because of mailserver trying to send bounced mails. Check your host for a solution.
