Has anyone seen this mod anywhere, or tell me how to do it?

I want to hide a certain forum from new users until they have been registered for 30 days.

Please help if you can!

This does not require a Modification, can be done with Promotions.

OK, I was thinking it might work that way - however - my users default to registered users when they sign up. Is there a way to default them to another usergroup (say probation) then I can use promotions to change them to registered after 30 days.

Best way would be the other way around.

Let them go into the registered usergroup.

Then create a usergroup and use that one for promotions...

Yes. amykhar has releases a Plugin for that.
But the better way would be to setup your Registered Usergroup not to have access to that Forum, create a new Usergroup that has and promote members from Registered to this Group after 30 Days.
