How do you delete a Column

I'm trying to install a hack and I get an error:

Database error in vBulletin 3.0.7:

Invalid SQL: ALTER TABLE usergroup ADD shoutboxpermissions INT UNSIGNED NOT NULL DEFAULT '0' AFTER forumpermissions
mysql error: Duplicate column name 'shoutboxpermissions'

mysql error number: 1060

So how do I delete a column?

[sql]ALTER TABLE usergroup DROP shoutboxpermissions[/sql]
... or just don't execute the ADD query
