Hivemail? How useful is it as a community addon?

I've noticed that many vbulletin forums are running Hivemail for their members and it seems to be very popular across the vbulletin* domains.

Im just wondering if any you guys have it on your forums and how many of the members actually use it? Is it a popular thing? Or just a way of attracting new members?

Actually, too much content could scare users away; too many members could also have an adverse effect. I believe the more features you are willing to add for your members, reflects the type of webmaster/administrator you are. It's more relative to whether your members would like it as a service.
