Almost all of us here are VB admins. Unless of course you simply buy Vbulletin memberships just so you can have fun posting at vb.org, heh. But every forum is different. Some bigger forums have really good posters behavior and activity wise. Other forums like myself have not so nice posters who are near impossible to please. It's a range I guess on the type of audience your forum is intended for. But how tough is your forum to manage and what's probably the most difficult thing for you to deal with?

I've got a staff of almost 50, so thank God, I've been blessed with great moderators. They do most of the work, and we get things done.

The most difficult thing I have to deal with is inactivity. Hell, I have no moderators and I get along just fine (not to say I don't have a few admins and super moderators, but that's just a few).

I have a lot of competition, as well as a lot of problems that pop up from time to time, but my staff is great, very dedicated...We've been dying off a bit, that's the biggest problem...We're still way better than the forum we came from at least...Had a bit of a little nasty Civil War that split the original community, but I can honestly say, our side won

Inactivity is becoming an issue with my forum, not really a problem I have to face directly that could prove destructive to the forum, like a user gone amuck spamming everywhere, but one that still bugs the hell out of me. Inactivity of members for most of us is annoying, when they simply register and post maybe once or twice, but then disappear for all eternity.
Other than that matter, my forums are generally very well kept, I have a good moderator team composed of people I talk to very often through AIM and mIRC, as well on the forum. The members of the forum have become very accustomed with the fact that the forum does not tolerate spam or crude people prone to causing trouble or flaming, therefore everything stays very clean. When new registrants arrive they are kept moderate as well by other members always (or sometimes inadvertently) enforcing the rules. |

Inactivity gets us all, most forums I mod/admin don't have many mods. Most do have a wide member base and deal very good with little staff. (Eg. vBT) and I think thats the best way to manage it.

My forums relativly easy to manage still, we only started just overa month ago, so only got about 150 members... We'va had 3 trouble makers so far, but that was easy to take care of!
We have 3 admins, we're the ones who started the board (when like kmdfn, there was a busty up at another forum) - but we've got a lot of new people who i've never met before, which is always encouraging, we appointed a super moderator, when I realised there were about 400 posts per day being made, and it was getting impossible to moderate them all. |

400 a day for 150 members is pretty good.

tM: I understand where you're coming from, I have the same problem (because my board is just like yours in the way that we have mostly teenagers as members + there's spinoff boards like for your board there's the fivestarsplash forums, DFX etc..)
