hi there! ok currently i have opened a hardware site ive tried vbportal etc.. but its just not what im looking for i need someting thats looks a feels more appropiate without having 2 spend anything *at the moment* i know this may sound silly but is there any pure php hardcoders out there willing to join my team? i will be opening a store shortly so i need a site that looks appealing although i have nuttin too offer at this time but if all kicks off ill be needing a full time webmaster if your intrested email me at paul@pure-hardware.com

There are 2 free ones at vb.org. vbhome lite, and vbindex. I run vbhome lite, and it's excellent.

i use vBIndex....but i eleminated some of the features like the whose online and poll.

vBHome Lite added 108 queries to my home page, so I just used a heavily modified version of PluhNews and eventually wrote my own script that uses one query.

I'd use vBindex. It has some nice features but because of the query adding I'd remove a few.

Also, there are some other scripts like PostNuke and other PHP Portals which have developers working on vB features to be added to the portal system so you get more.

Maybe he's cleaned it up since then but it used to use that many.

Filburt, you must have had a error installing it, ive tested every verson and its never gave that many queries.
