a big question/hard to solve!

At first hi!Ým very new here!Great Forum...
Sorry my english isnt good!Ý hope i can explain clearly what i mean!
im working local on my computer (so i have no www adress)!
i tried to customize my vbulletin new!
But i got a big problem now!
Ý saw the yaxay community!Great work!
The forumslist table on the main page there is shadowed!
And i made two images with photoshop (leftshadow and rightshadow.gif's)!
But i dont know where the right place is on the templates to insert!!!!
Ý'm working since a week for this and i tried everything!but no success!
Ý seperated my tables, corrected my codes....... nothing!!!!
Ý worked with forumhome_forumbit_level1_nopost and with forumhome_forumbit_level2_post!
Ý got images over and under my forumtables (used the modification instructions from this board)
There are no poroblem with the other images!But i cant add the left and right side images!???
Ý now this is a very hard question!But can somebody help me please!

The both images are working on the left and right side of my forum-lastpost-topics...... table!!!!!

now i tried:
1.to add:<TD vAlign=top width=18

in various places on this template. above-under-middle.......

2.to add:<TD vAlign=top width=18

next to:<td bgcolor="#F9F9F9"><smallfont>$forum[lastpostinfo]</smallfont></td>
in the forumhome_forumbit_level2_post template (i worked but my tables crashed when i
tried to add the rightshadow text before:<td bgcolor="#F9F9F9" valign="top"><img src="images/$forum[onoff].gif" border="0" alt=""></td>
in the same template!!!!

is this very so hard or have i bugs in my codes????would be very nice if i get alittle help!!!
