Just wondered, but when people use the quote feature for the thread, it's displaying at the bottom below the post, instead of the top of that thread.
Can someone point me to the template that allows me to fix it? I looked in post bit, but it has a $message code, but not sure which template that is. |

Well, the quote code is always entered at the top of the post. However, some users move their cursor up to the top and begin typing there. I don't know that there's a template edit that could it anyplace lower.
the "quote" features is actually a custom vB code that interprets the tag and then applys an html edit. You can use this code anywhere in your post, or by clicking on the "Quote" link or button. So, I think it's really just a matter of cursor placement more than anything else. |

hmm, okay, because it doesn't matter where the cursor is, same problem.
Pretty sure it's somewhere in the templates. Would suspect it's included with what ever template file it is that displays the actual message that's pointed to in the postbit. Just need the name of that template is all. ![]() Thanks anyway, maybe someone else knows? |

Well, the [ QUOTE ] tags are not part of the template system, it's under the "Custom vB Codes" section in your Admin Control panel. If you select the "Edit" button you should see how your quotes are handled.

The placement is handled by the User. There is no template that holds the quote. When you click on the Quote button, all vBulletin does is set the reply box to contain that message surrounded by the quote information for formatting.
p.s. There are no files that hold templates. All templates are database records. |

Ah, okay. Well, that clears it up I guess.
Strange it does it that way though. *shrugs* Guess I will have to tell my members that. |

err... guess again. I just added a comment below the quote, still does it, the quote is always at the bottom of the user post, no matter where you type in your comments. Since the forum uses nothing but the stuff from this board (no hacks at all) maybe one of the template mods is interfereing?
