I need to write a due date calculator in PHP for my website. I do not have any php experience, but can look at code and pick around and edit it. I haven't been able to find one that I could modify.
Basically, I need to be able to have the user enter a date, and enter their choice for one of three calculation methods, then display back their due date. That's it, and it sounds like it shouldn't be too involved. Can anyone help get me started on this? Thanks! |

i would suggest making this a normal request, i'm sure a few other mothering sites would appreciate it.
how exactly are you going to/trying to work out the due date? in weeks (how many), days (how many)? |

Thanks for the reply, sabret00the. What do you mean by normal request?
There are three different methods for calculating a due date. First, the mommy to be enters the first day of last menstrual period Next, she enters the number of days her cycle normally lasts. 28 days is standard, but if longer or shorter, the calculation start date should be adjusted + or - the number of days greater or less than 28 for the cycle. This will give you the caculated start date. 1) From caculated start date, add 280 days. 2) From caculated start date, add 40 weeks. 3) From caculated start date, count back three calendar months, then add one year and seven days. A basic calculator would assume 28 days and use either method #1 or #2 above. A more advanced calculator would provide all three methods for calculating, allow for the adjustments based on the mom's cycle length, and provide additional details such as baby's birth stone, star sign, conception date, etc. |
