vB Advanced CMPS - Is It For Me?

I have just downloaded & installed CMPS.. and after readin up on how to use it.. im not sure if its what im looking for.

Perhaps someone here know what would be more preferable (if not CMPS) for my situation.


The Scenario:

I have an existing PHP driven site that i want to integrate certain aspects of vB in.

For example:

- Global Login
(all site pages act as if viewing vB page in respect to permissions etc)

Theres more, but without getting nitty gritty.. I basically want to use the existing vB member table to control access to the main site, and incorporate things like the 'whos online', 'private messaging', 'user profile' etc etc into the 'non-vB' pages (and still be able to parse PHP).


I guess im looking for something where I can just put an include at the top of each page for login verification, and include for the login box, registration, PM status etc.



If you know that CMPS can do this, or know of something better suited - please let me know. im desperate.
