minimising number of different URL's going to same page

I have just seen that G has two or three instances of all my forum pages:

site.com/forum/showthread.php?t=85
site.com/forum/showthread.php?goto=lastpost&t=85

how can I stop all the multiple URL's. I know there are full blown hacks out there but I just want to stop this particular problem. Which templates need to be changed. And I need it for 3.0.7 too.

can someone point me in the right direction?
