Hero RPG Needs Testers
Greetings
First of all, let me start by telling you what this post is for. It's not a release of a hack, but rather a request for "beta testers", if you want to call them that, of a new original vBulletin RPG entitled "Hero". Currently we need testers to help uncover bugs and exploits in version 3.1 so that we may progress to implementing all the features we have planned. Below is a partial list of things we currently have integrated and some we plan to develop within the next month: - Game Features
- Fully customizeable heroes, including name, class, race, deity, gender, faction, age, and description
- Interactive battle system featuring an array of unique monsters to fight head-on
- Hundreds of items to find, use, and equip on your hero to make him/her more powerful in combat
- Interactive inventory allows for the manipulation of hundreds of items and pieces of equipment
- Several statistics for your hero to increase at level-ups, such as Strength, Magic Power, Luck, and Defense, all of which affect the game in one way or another
- Collect gold from monsters to purchase new items, stay at the inn, or merely to be robbed while camping in the wild
- Top player list showing the highest ranking players in the game with several sorting options
- Advanced admin control panel, where you can quickly add and edit items, monsters, locations, classes, races, bosses, quests, and heroes.
- Future Planned Features
- Evolving, dynamic storyline based on the decisions of players in the game. Choose the outcome by performing quests, defeating bosses, and collection powerful artifacts
- Build or purchase personal housing for your character, where you may stash excess items and gold, or rest in your bed to heal your character at no cost. Rentals also available.
- User-controlled shops where players may sell items to other players. Allows the ability to manipulate taxes, stocks, and shelf stock
- Refer new users to the site to collect Chaos Crystals, magical items that can be used to empower your items or as a currency
- Interactive NPCs which will offer quests and other such information that may help progress the story
- Select a deity to change the outcome of the game by limiting your travel locations and NPC interactions
- Even more enhanced battle system which includes magic, thievery, limit breaks, and special skills such as backstab and riposte
- Become a noble, a town mayor, or even a king of your country as you climb the political scale. Wage war on enemies, make allies, and send soldiers to war in a fully interactive diplomatic management system
- Start a small business selling items and evolve into a massive monopoly, running as many businesses as you can afford to keep alive. Dominate the item market or sell your well-earned loot as a proprietor
This list isn't as large as one might expect from an RPG, but I will say that it is only a fraction of what we have in mind for this project. We hope to create a game that involves minimal administrator interaction and is almost completely player-driven - meaning the story progresses itself (as long as a new chapter has been added by the developers) and the heroes who progress the story are properly recognized and rewarded. We still have yet to complete a copy that can be publicly released, though we'd like you to help test what we have so far so that we may further our goal of releasing a beta version for other forums to use.
