Trouble UL/DL Styles

Problem 1********
So i was trying to make a style that's the same as my current one but uses different colors...seems normal to change color schemes right?

so I downloaded the current style, made some changes (find/replace on Hex values), and uploaded it as a new style...no big deal right?

but none of my "Extra" styles came across these are styles that were defined in the original style, and the only changes were to hex values.

Any ideas? Malformed XML?

Problem 2********
I know CSS, and to me it would be LOADS easier to just hand edit the sheets minus the "Edit All Styles" link in ACP. So I went to vB options and turned on "Use Externally Stored CSS" (and I have the /clientscript/vbulletin_css/ folder w/ correct permissions setup). Now...how do I get this current style to store as external CSS? I think this would help with Problem 1 (in theory).

I'm relatively new to Styles/Templates in vB so be nice
