A few questions

I have a few questions about vB. I have installed it several times using several settings, and it works.. but after an import (phpBB2) some stuff is messed up.

1.) In my members profile, everything is unchecked. For example "show images" "show avatars" "receive mail from admin" etc. How do I edit these to what I want them to be? I already set the settings in the admincp that was supposed to do this. Might have done it after import..

2.) I can't seem to get avatars imported. When it asks for the avatar path, I write "images/avatars". Is this not correct?

3.) Upon importing styles (phpBB subSilver and Icicle) my entire forum goes wack and I have to re-install it. I've given up on importing styles (and I dont want to).

4.) How do I include mysite.com/head.php? I have edited the header, header_include, and include_start or something like that to put in the <?php include("mypath/head.php"); ?> but it does not work.

5.) I don't quite understand access masks. vBulletin has hundreds of more options that phpBB2, and its really overwhelming having to learn every single one. If I am not mistaken, they are to disallow viewing of a certain page? I'd like the whos online, memberlist, and user profiles to require a login.

6.) How do I remove (everything) pertaining to the attatchments? I am going to purchase PhotoPost, and dont like attatchments. I see no where in the admincp (after about 5+ installs) of how to disable attatchments. I prefer having all the files in one area (gallery). I know I could simply edit the posting body.. but that isn't good enough for me. Someone could still post attatchments if they knew the url.

7.) User ranks, titles, and usergroups. It is all so confusing to me. In phpBB, user ranks are something you earn by post count or I specifically assign it to a member. Can a standard member edit their title themselves? How I do things, is I give a predetermined title, and after 1000 posts, the user can PM me and I'll change theirs to whatever they want. Can I make it so after 1000 posts, they can alter it?

8.) After my phpBB import, only new threads and replies show the "You are subscribed to this thread" checkmark image. I dont understand why the rest dont.

9.) I dont like the layout of 3.0.3. What is the difference between 3.0.3 and 2.3.0? Are there any security issues? What features have been introduced since 2.3.0?
