I need to make a rather large extranet application for a client with some very specific requests.
But on the other side the client also needs a forum with a lot of features, news article postings, a calendar, a faq, and a member registration thing. So I figured, half of his wishes are already in vB. So, maybe I can use vB as basic platform, using its userregistration, calender thing, news articles etc.. and just build my complete application using the vB user database and go from there. So it would not be like hacking and modifying the board a little bit here or there, but building a completely seperate application that uses the vB userdatabase as base. If this is not making any sense... no problem. Anyway, my question is, is this do-able or just a stupid idea? |
