Included the file, but function not defined

I have an odd problem here...

I have a script that pulls posts out of a given forum for the front page (it's a news script). It works perfectly, and has for a while now.

I moved my site to a different server recently, and now the code is broken.

I include the functions_bbcodeparse.php file in order to use the parse_bbcode function. Remember, this worked until the server switch.

Now it claims that parse_bbcode isn't defined, even though it successfully includes the functions_bbcodeparse.php file and that file is still fine (as in not corrupt or anything).

I'm stumped as to why my code doesn't work even though the function is defined properly in a file that is included properly... anyone have any suggestions?

ps. the forum works fine on the new server, so rule out a problem with the forum function files...
