For some reason I simply love the UBB light bulb for new threads and no new threads. If I use it for my vbulletin will I violate copyright laws?

If you own a UBB lite license and it does not explicitly state that the graphics may only be used with UBB lite there should be no problem.

i don't mind adding icons by ubb either at the footer

Funny how they have windows icon all over their site... But I guess I have stick to their policy. Anyhow it doesn't mean I can't use a light bulb image for "new posts" and "no old posts" I just have to use a different light bulb.
