hide one thread, from one user

howdy, my friends online want to plan a party for our good buddy coming back from his travels. however, we don't want him to be able to see we are planning it. is there anyway to hide one thread from one user?

You could put everyone except him in an additional usergroup, then make that forum only available to that usergroup.

There's probably a way to do what you're asking but I dont know how.
