Heya everyone ... just wanted a bit of advice !!!
![]() I want to integrate a vB portal into my site to help make updating the homepage alot easier. Upon looking around here, it's pretty clear the only two I should consider are vBindex and vBadvanced (if I missed another good one please let me know). - I've added a minor hack (too simple for me to call it a hack) that I mentioned here a while back: https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/showthread.php?t=60588 - As well done several template modifications. - I'd like to be able to install more hacks, most notably AndrewD's version of Links and Files Database 1.10, and probably a few others ... lol. - I'm FAR from knowing a lot about MySQL or PHP, but I do learn quick and haven't had too much of a problem modifying templates and tweeking a bit of code (mostly with a bit of help though). - I would like to maintain a similar look to my current homepage (which you can see I've slightly tweeked myself to have a bit of forum info in it), so easy modification to the portal's template is a big priority. - Although I don't mind redoing my custom templates once, I'd like a portal that will work well with my tweeks to current vB templates. What is the upgrade process like for portals anyhow? I could really find much reliable info on this. When you install a portal onto vB3, do you need to reinstall the portal after every time you upgrade vB3 itself. Like will I need to uninstall and/or reinstall the portal after upgrading to a future 3.0.2 (current vB is 3.0.1)? lol .. that's about it ... you feedback/advice will be greatly appreciated !!! ![]() Current homepage: http://www.homeofmusic.com Forum Homepage: http://www.homeofchat.com/vB Thanks to all who help out !!! ![]() Regards, DJ RRebel ![]() |
