Default Should I wait?

Hi,
Using 3.0.7, I’m one moment from becoming live.
Now, that the 3.5 beta1 was released, I’d like to know what should I expect to.
Can I expect to beta2? I’m sure you can’t know, but you might have some experience with releasing dates.

Should I give up and not expect the beta2 -> stable 3.5 -> hooks & hacks
while I’m not sure whether the hacker supports a specific hack?

It might be very helpful if you could share your experience here, in terms of the expected time frame!

Thanks.

there is no need to share about this situation...

you simply have to read the public announcements on vbulletin.com to know that there is not a single ounce of support for 3.5 betas/RC releases... it's at your own risks if you install this on a production site...

betas and RC are for coders to help debug and develop furthermore the actual code... no public site would take the risk to install a script that is not stable...

there is no way actually to know what hack will be upgraded to 3.5, most coders will wait until the RC version to set their upgrades... in a month or so, as usual...

1. When you say 'in a month or so' do you mean
a month from now?
OR
a month from the Stable version?? :ermm:

2. If it's a month from the stable version,
then, what time FRAME could I expect for the stable version to be released?

In summation:
I need to decide.
My decision will be based on your estimation.

I need to decide, whether it is worth to wait until the
1. Final version is released. (Your estimation please).
2. The average time it will take to coders to release their hacks. (Your estimation please, and yes, I'm aware it's not a Formal answer, and it is my own risk)

I will appreciate honest answers,
and if I'm still unclear to someone (coders, or site owners who have experience in time frames),
just ask yourself an easy qustion:

When I (you) was a newbie who is using some simple hacks,
and there was a new release of vB,
how long it TOOK me to upgrade to the stable version,
INCLUDING the time I've had to wait until those simple hacks released?

Thanks very much to anyone who can ESTIMATE

:vBulletin 3.0.0 Gamma was Released on Dec 4th 2003, 11:42pm:
:vBulletin 3.0.0 Gold was Released on Mar 19th 2004, 9:52pm:

Theres an estimate, over 3 months. Or maybe it will be released tomorrow. Acually could be released next week. No one knows. All depends on how stable it is and if there are bugs.

Thanks LiveWire!
This answer completely answer the First question.
But it misses the Second (and the very related) question:

Depends how active the user in question is. Most likey an active hack author will upgrade there hack within a couple of weeks, others maynot but allow others to do it for them. Inactive hack authors are more then likely not to upgrade there hacks. But some may come back just to do that. Thats the best answer i can give...
