On my forum it constantly displays the Register Button, User CP button & logout button.

How do I make it so the register only shows up for guests & the user CP & Log out only show up for users?

View the default header template, when you made changes to the header template, you removed the if/else conidtionals for showing such to the correct usergroup.

If you will check the defauly header then you will find what you need and all you will need to do is add them back to your new header that you are now displaying.
