Ok folks you know when you click a vB.org user profile... it lists their profile and then below that it lists all the mods by that user. I'd like to implement something very similar on our forum.
A little background... we sell kits that allow the customer to build an item. there's a huge range of item configurations based on how the customer chose to build it. i'd like to allow users to enter their item configurations via SOME interface so they are displayed in that member's profile. addtionally, i'd like to be able to show a total list of all user's item configurations. i see this being very similar to whatever mod/hack is in place here on vB.org for showing each user's mods. instead of displaying the 3 or so columns, though, i'd need to display around 6-8 columns that are SORTABLE (but i believe that by default they're sortable). can someone please provide some guidance on doing so? it'd save us from having to develop an external tool to do this and at the same time help drive traffic thru our forum. also, how do users post mods that show up in their member profile? thanks all. new here but this seems like a pretty supportive forum. v/r, steve |
