Does anybody know how you can send an email to a member if their activity drops on the board, i.e. they don't visit / post within a given time frame?
I've done a search here and seen a couple of other threads talking about it but with no responses. |

Wouldn't this annoy your forum members, and make them even less likely to return? The moment I receive an unsolicited email from a forum, I tend not to go back.

This would have to be carefully balanced yes. The frequency would be set to something like 1-2 months (at least for me). If there hasn't been any activity for that length of time, then they are not really contributing to the forum anyway.
In this particular instance my 1-2 month warning email is more of a courtesy email to let them know they are about to be removed from the forum. If they get one email in this frequency and don't come back because the forum was 'bugging them' then they really have no place there. Sometimes people need to be reminded that you're there. I've seen it all before ![]() Quote:
