I have a continuous permissions problem with members being able to view Announcements. It is bothersome because the permissions are simple to get around.
Here is an example: say the forum being view is ID#3 and the announcement is ID#5. So, if a member is in forum #3, the link is: announcement.php?f=3&a=5 -- if there is a permissions issue for that forum, they get the "no permissions" message. But, if you remove the f=3& and just use: announcement.php?a=5 -- the announcement displays normally. Even if you are not logged in. So here is the problem. I post a global announcement that I want every one to be able to view. Depending on the link, members get blocked and contact me about it. This is very annoying. Why is it setup this way when it is so simple to get around? --RayJ |
