Hi.
I'm using phpmychat right now. It is integrated with vbulletin thanks to some hard working coders on this site. My problem........... I used to have 40-50 chatters at one time. Now I'm lucky to have 4-5. They really don't like the chatroom. Does anyone know of a chatroom that can be integrated with vbulletin? Requirements: 1. Must be fast. 2. Not too expensive. 3. Be able to integrate with vbulletin. 4. Most important thing. All coding must be on my server. Independent to any other servers. My site is too large to depend on someone else's site for my chatroom. Thanks. Dave. |

We have EIRC setup on our server, Unreal version 3.1.3 I think it is. Our own channel, private. You do have to use an IRC chat client to connect though. And thats ok, cause most of these java based chat clients are crap.

Anybody have a link to a chatroom program that might be integrated with vbulletin?
I don't won't to rely on someone's elses server for the chat program. java is fine. phpmychat just seems to be too slow. I was eventually going to hire someone to add a "who's online" to the forums pages. This increases the number of chatroom participants. Thanks. Dave. |

eIRC and almost any other Java Client will connect to any server, you just have to recomplie it and produce the JAR file for it.

Do a search in the "Full Releases" forum for "chat" - there are a few hacks to integrate chat available.

Java chat is the best one as for php chat come on lets face it ,its no wonder you only got 5.
Its one of worst chats i ever seen.No wonder it comes free with most hosts they cant give it away. I use Jirc meself and find this the best and yep theres a hack on vbull to integrate this in and its the best one i have seen anywhere yet. the java chat i mean is one that connects to a mirc server this serves for people who struggle to configure normal mirc. Note there is no substitute for a proper mirc room set up |
