I just installed VB 5 connect. "Most" things are working right. However, user permissions don't seem to want to save. I can take a registered member, and go through the motions of changing their permission (in Admin panel) to make a forum accessible or not and even click save..but when I check their permissions again, it hasn't saved. Am I missing something?

After changing any permissions in the admincp, make sure you then go to Maintenance > Clear System Cache so that the old permissions get cleared.

Nope, no love there. It still won't save permissions. It says "saved", but when you check again, they are back at default.
I have also noticed that when I click on access masks quick editor nothing shows up. Nothing under names, channel, etc. Could that have something to do with it? |

Access Masks do not work in vB5, so that would have nothing to do with it.
What version of vB5 did you install? What version of PHP and MySQL are on the server? |
