Notify Users by email only on the Creation of New Topics Not Replies Inside Topics

When a user subscribed a channel for being notify by e-mail for new topics, the replies inside of the new topic or old topics in that channel subscribed too also notifies the user, note that user don?t subscribed each topic, but he is notified anyway.

I just want to notify users of the new topics in that channel he subscribed.

Example:

There is a channel Z and a User X subscribed this channel
New Topics create by other users on channel Z send an e-mail to user X that subscribed the channel Z (clicked on button subscribe), notifing that new topic was created, it's OK
But the replies in the specific new topics (inside new topics) did not should send e-mail to the user X, note that user don?t subscribed the new Topic in specific (user don?t click on button subscribed inside the topic). it's NOK
User X continuous to receive e-mails every time someone replies to the new topic (that him does not subscribed)
He need to be notified only on creation of new topics in channel Z, not the replies of this new topics.

I ask about this functionality and Vbulletin said they have this issue open:

This is a functionality that is essential to launch my new site, so I?ve been thinking to give a game at Steam with max value of U$40,0 for who solve this issue and other game randomly give of who vote of this issue above.

But just vote, if you really agree of the issue, I expect you don't think that I?m buying this, it?s just a gift.

I just do this because the person who solve this problem for me deserves a gift and I really need this functionality for my site!

It's ok with the rules of forum to do this?
