I have a vB 3.7 forum and am experiencing a significant delay (30-60 secconds) when submitting the first post when starting a new thread. Once the thread is created subsequent posts are processed immediately.

Can anyone suggest how to trouble shoot this?

Have you tried on a unmodified default style?
Have you tried with all mods disabled?
How big is the site, members, posts etc?

Sounds like a plugin problem at first thought but you should try Ozzy's advice first before searching through all your plugins.

Maybe you need to optimize your database tables and remove all overhead via phpmyadmin.
