We created a PMRestricted usergroup. Members assigned to this usergroup are not allowed to send or receive private messages. This is working as expected. The problem is that we discovered they are still able to delete their PMs. Is there any way to prevent a user from deleting their PMs?

Dare I ask why you care if they delete their PMs (especially if they aren't allowed to receive any in the first place)?
There is no setting to disallow deleting PMs. You could edit the pm_messagelistbit template and put a condition around the box to not show it to the usergroup, or write a plugin and set $show['pmcheckbox'] to false for that usergroup. |

Thank you, Lynne, for your response. I will look into editing the pm_messagelistbit template.
Regarding your question ... members are placed on PM restriction after admins have been notified that a member has been abusing PM privileges. The abuse is not bad enough to ban them from the forum but we do take the privilege away from them. We found that while they cannot send or receive PMs, they are still able to delete PMs. We want to take that ability away from them. |
