How do move the login box to side bar or a widget ?

Hi,
I have been trying to move the login box to a side bar ( basically adding a widget to a sidebar that contains the login box ). I would highly appreciate if you could give me the step by step instructions to do this ( including the variables that need to be preregistered etc ).

What you could try is download vBadvanced CMPS . That mod comes with a repositionable login module (sidebar, content section, etc.). Just follow the installation instructions there, and come back if you get stuck.
