First off I apologise if this in the wrong section, I couldn't see a support section and I know vbulletin.com won't/can't help people with mods on their forums.
To the point: I've recently been getting A LOT and I mean A LOT of emails through from my host about Database errors: Database error in vBulletin : mysqli_real_connect() [<a href='function.mysqli-real-connect'>function.mysqli-real-connect</a>]: (HY000/2002): Can't connect to local MySQL server through socket '/var/lib/mysql/mysql.sock' (2) /home/everyone/public_html/forums/includes/class_core.php on line 1317 At first I was like, ok - Maybe it's a mod I installed or something but I'm getting so many of these now and each and every time the referring page and/or script is different - It'll be a thread, then a user profile, then a chat, then a login. Etc. So now I'm thinking is it because the hosting plan I'm on doesn't meet the size of the forums/activity - Can it not handle that much traffic? I have unlimited bandwidth and server space (supposedly) - I'm really, really at wits ends here and the users have started noticing these errors and they seem to be getting only more frequent - If anyone has even an IDEA of what it might be I would be forever appreciative - At least then I have somewhere to start looking right now, as it stands I feel completely and utterly helpess. ![]() Thanks in advance, WorldCraft |
