My old host had a "bug" and deleted my forum. I have the mysql database backup that I got from cpanel. Ive installed vb 3.8 on my new host. What exactly will be in the old database in the format sql.gz once I restore it. Will it have just posts, or will some of the forum structure be there? Will the old members be there? Please help me understand what I should expect to be there and what wont be there.
Thanks for any help. |

Bug? What kind of bug?
Was you database corrupt? If so, I would not use it., If its a fresh copy of your database, then everything you ask will be there. |

once you reinstall it will delete the old db and install a new one unless you run a old backup after you install the same version

The data base is fine. They had an accounting bug as they say. My credit card expied that was on file so their system deleted my account. It was deleted even befoe payment was due. So I went in and updated the card but they siad an error occured and my account was accidentally deleted. They had no backup so I changed hosts. Good to know it will be back to almost original

If you have copys of all site files, with all addons. Your site will be as it was before its deletion.
You will need to change a few lines in config.php & edit a few paths in admincp. ect..to reflect new host |
