Members with different interests, how to please them all?

Following problem in my forum, there are some members only interested in facts but not in off topic stuff.
So, my idea would be, there should be a button "only facts" and one button "all forum content" so you can switch every time to the preferred site view.
If the member is switching to the "only facts" view, all off topic stuff should be excluded, in forum view, new posts, today posts, search etc..
I know there isn't a modification for this and I know there is a modification a user can exclude some forums from the new post view but most people don't know this function and your are still able to see the other forums.
Is this an issue on your forum too? If yes how did you solved this problem? Any idea is recommended, thanks.

I installed a modification to allow users to exclude certain forums from the Get New and Get Daily search. I think I posted a notice about it along with a link to our New Features thread where I show what it does and how to set it up. I think the mod originally was made to no longer show the forums on the main page also, but I changed that to still show them in case the user wants to go view them some time but just doesn't want to see the threads in their updates.

Maybe its an option to review your forum structure and define an optimal separation between on-topic and off-topic + casual forums.

Social groups could be used to add in this. If only they would be more exposed.

I delete almost all off topic posts myself.

I have installed this hack too Lynne (this one from Andreas), but so far as I remember the forums will stay visible, or is there another one for vB 3.8?
Most people don't know this feature, but I consider excluding all OT and disputes forums by a sql query for all members and make an announcement how they can enable the forums if they want.

There's only one OT forum and one forum for disputes and controversy topics. Sure deleting is an idea but I think deleting posts isn't the right way to go.
Social groups was an option I thought about, but sadly you can't move forum posts over there and without this possibility I don't want do do that.
