Set default email notification for one thread...?

Hi all,

Is it possible to set default email notification for one thread?

We have a support forum and post our software updates in one (closed) thread, so members can download the latest version there.

We'd like to send out an email notification when this thread gets updated, so all our members know instantly that there's a new update available.

This would require a 'forced' email notification setting for just that thread.

How would I go about this?
