Centering images in posts

In my Seti's World forum I have images of different sizes. I set the max image width stylevar (in the black and gray theme) to 1100px. Some of the images don't max out or in the past I reduced the size before uploading them. This has resulted in the smaller images being pinned to the left and not going all the way across to the max size. In other words there's a lot of dead space to the right.
What I'm interested in is making the images that don't flair all the way out, center up automaticly. To make it simple it could impose that on all of the images whether or not it needs to. Maybe a bbcode tag in the editor I could click on and put the image link in between. But then I'd have to go back and edit 200+ images. I'm trying to avoid that if possible.
I'm not a programmer so go easy on me please.

I don't understand what you want. How about an image showing what it looks like now and an image showing what you would like it to look like.

OK say your forum is 1280 wide. You post a picture that's 800 wide. What I'd like to do is have the pictures automatically center up in the post.
