Help me remove 1 more block of newbism please! On my cms articles, Im trying to make them look a little better, I have images for each article and it breaks up the words on the side of the image in the "collapsed article". Now my question is this: After I click on the edit pencil to get to the edit screen of whatever article, I used to be able to click on the image and adjust a few properties of the image (location, size, caption, etc.) but now I cant do that, What process do I need to do to be able to click on an article image and adjust its properties?
--------------- Added [DATE]1293468162[/DATE] at [TIME]1293468162[/TIME] --------------- Ok in addition to needing to know how to edit the properties of an article image (Like I said, at 1 time I coould go into the article edit screen, click the image and it would bring up a little image editing box, I cant figure out how to do that anymore) I also need to know how to do something to the article background, I have a transparent theme going on right now, I was able to make my sidebar widgets exactly how I wanted them to look (transparent with a gradient) but when I try to apply the same effect to the stylevar for cms article background the only editable field I have is for color, there is no field for image (which obviously I used to apply the gradient in the widgets), can I not have a transparent article background with a gradient? |

You need to have your editor in WYSIWYG mode in order to see the little edit pencil for the image.
It would help if you could supply a link to your site and an image of how you want it to look. That way we can see what changes need to be made. |

ok, I dont know how to turn on the WYSIWYG mode, Ill try again to post a link to my forums (I havent been able to get it correct yet) ((My forums are temporarily turned on, for the purposes of this thread)) Notice my articles, see how some of the text is on the side of the pics? notice how the text of the articles blends in a little with the background? I like the constitution in the background, it is an element I would like to keep, I would just like users to be able to read the articles better, any suggestions? ( I currently have the forums set with a white background, I feel it might make a user more comfortable, IDK) Please let me know what you think, give me some suggestions on what you think I should do, dont hold back, I can take it ( I am no designer/coder, cssxpert, or anything, so really dont hold back, let me know what you think. Here is my attempt at a link to my site:
here if it doesnt work go to www.unitedmilitia.org, Thank you! |

You go into WYSIWYG mode by either selecting it in your Settings > General Settings page or by clicking the little A/A button in the upper right corner of the editor.
You could add a background color to ".yui-tvb-l50" by adding it in additional.css - like .yui-tvb-l50 {background: beige;} Or you could try editing your background and not making it so 'dark'. I'm not a designer either, so perhaps someone has some more constructive suggestions. |

--------------- Added [DATE]1293484367[/DATE] at [TIME]1293484367[/TIME] --------------- ok, lynne, I navigated to admincp>Options>general settings and saw no option to switch to WYSIWYG mode, however I did click the a/a in the editor screen and apparently... I was already in the WYSIWYG mode. When Im in the editor screen and I hover over the image, I see the pencil appear, but clicking does nothing, I dont understand, it cant be anything serious, I just must be doing something wrong. Why cant I edit my images in my articles? |
