Is there anyway to tell what moderator approved a thread? I tried digging thru the post edit history however I couldn't find anything on who approved the thread. Is there anything in the database I could look thru? Like a certain table that might hold this info etc.

Did you try Thread Tools > Edit and look at the bottom of the page there?

Yeah I sure did because usually that shows everything however surprisingly it doesn't show who approved the thread

You should go to AdminCP -> Statistics & Logs -> Moderator log. You may find most actions performed by mods there, including approving threads, deleting/undeleting them, and more.

Thanks for that but unfortunately the mod logs don't show thread approvals/rejections etc. Surprisingly this doesn't exist ANYWHERE in vB from what I have seen.

I just tested this on my site (both vB 3.8 and 4.0). The approval shows up under Thread Tools > Edit like I first said. It shows the Moderator Log on the bottom there and says the Action: Approved Thread, and the time and who and the IP. It also shows up under the Moderator Log. If yours isn't showing up, then you've modified something to make it not show up.

Hey Lynne, Thanks for that! Yes you were right they do show up and the reason that they weren't showing up on some threads was because the threads were never moderated. When one of my admins created a new sub- forum he forgot to turn on "moderating of threads" so the threads were just showing up live and we couldn't figure out who the heck moderated them. I had checked the Thread Tools -> Edit originally like you said however I seen nothing there. But since you said you just tested it I figured let me check one more time so I went looking thru some old threads that I know were approved and sure enough the approval log was in there.
So as always Thanks so much for your time and help  |
