First let me say I have posted on their forum and they seem to be very little help. They blame mod_rewrite and blame the host and not their plugin coding.
I run a dedicated server from hostgator and in the last 6 or 7 years I have never had downtime unless there was an upgrade being done. The server has many custom scripts that are NOT open source but built from scratch and all run fine with no issues and some sites have triple the traffic my forum has. vbSEO causes this issue Top Process %CPU 88.0 /usr/bin/php /home/xxxxxxx/public_html/vbseo.php Top Process %CPU 81.0 /usr/bin/php /home/xxxxxxxx/public_html/vbseo.php Top Process %CPU 62.0 /usr/bin/php /home/xxxxxxx/public_html/vbseo.php Meaning it runs way too many processes and it does crash the server and force it to be restarted at least 8 times a month. vbSEO's solution is to change host, sorry that is not going to happen.. They should fix their coding so it does not use so many processes and yes it can be done, if they would take the time to do it... I have a feeling they will not though with the run around I have gotten thus far.. If they don't then they better be prepared to give me a refund of the over-priced plugin. So is there another solution for SEO for vBuletin 4.0.4 ??? James |

If you need support for vbseo, you should ask there
or remove the mod and ask vb.com to optimize your setup... |

Honestly, I'd go with no URL rewrite settings any way, they are of little value for the trouble. Hopefully your site isn't established with the fURL's to it already. |

My site is established with well over 20,000 backlinks... The plugin should be fixed but seems they refuse to do that and I will make sure to let others know. Never tick off a marketer that has a forum full of marketers ...lol
Is there another alternative ? Sure I can use .htaccess and mod_rewrite but I did not want to spend the time doing it thus why I bought the plugin. Brandon I sent you a PM days ago on that other forum netbuilders but I never heard back so I did the upgrades on my forum myself. If you have something to offer let me know what it is ... James |

Hi James,
Sorry about not getting back to you, email really is best for me. I try to check out the admin forums each week but I can't be everywhere ![]() In response to your gripe with vbseo, I've seen it run fine on sites will millions of post, I find it hard to believe they are unwilling to work with you. Did you submit a support ticket? I wouldn't take the option of changing your url's if possible, if you want to chat with me personally, my email is brandon.sheley[at]gmail[dot]com otherwise I'll try to contact Juan and alert him to this thread. |

I will send you an email later on tonight ...
I have posted on their forum and asked them to help like 2 weeks ago and all I get is a run around... I do not want to change my urls but I certainly can not let my server go down 8 times a month either... I know a few others that use the plugin and they have a slight dragging problem but nothing as serious as mine with it making the server crash. They are on different host but again it is not really the host. If this was the host then trust me my article directory which is custom coded and has many tools would crash the server. It massively uses mod_rewrite also with no issues. James Quote:
Looks like I was just told there will be no refund or no bug fixed... If this is the case then looks like I will have to write up my review and start getting it on top listings of google so others are warned. While I am at it guess I will create a plugin that will do the SEO properly without using all the server resources and sell it it for far less ... I will give them a little time to come to their senses but I doubt they will... James |

This is most likely what the issue is...as there is nothing wrong with VBSEO.

They are and have been, that is not the issue ... The issue is the plugin coding...
