I know this may sounds like a crazy question, but I have a need to be able (without manual moderation if at all possible) to have a generic, new user post a new thread to a public forum, and have that new thread be posted (or redirected) to a private section of another forum.
Here's the situation: Gaming website used for a decent-sized group of people. I have a public section for general news, and for new people to "apply" to be members of the guild / group. Some people have requested their applications be private, and we have also had issues with people from other guilds using the information found on our applications (that are currently public) to 'poach' those potential members. I've considered trying to create a form, and having the contents of the form post, but even that would require (I believe) different credentials to be able to post in a private forum / thread. Ultimately, a form would be the cleanest method as I could enforce the answering of specific questions, and I could probably also automate a response email to them. Does anyone know of a mod that could do this - or something similar, or is there a tweak that I can do to new threads created in a public forum forcing them to be redirected that anyone knows of? Thanks in advance! |

Why couldn't you just make the Application forum "Can View Others Threads" set to No for every Usergroup but the staff who are making the choice?
