I would like to display how many points each team on my forum has at the top of my forum. I would rather use a database to edit the points than editing the header each time, so my question is would it mess anything up to go into one of the header files in my template and use PHP to connect to a MySQL database, get the points out, and display them in HTML format?
Thanks! |

What is wrong with creating a plugin for this?
I would start by reading the articles in our articles section. |

To be honest, I've never worked with a script as complex as vBulletin before. The reason I didn't immediately go the plugin route is because I'm worried I'll mess something up.
