Currently running 4.0.0 and it was suggested that due to one of my problems (can't collapse categories for some reason) to wait for 4.0.2 and bypass 4.0.1. My 'Control Panel Home" shows link to members.vbulletin.com but still shows 4.0.1 as the maintenance release that's now available. Here I read that 4.0.2 is out and the landing page above shows 4.0.2. But, when I click the link to download the version it simply returns to the same page. Even the blog by Don Kuramura dated 2/16/10 at 7:18pm shows 4.0.2 available. So...how does one download the the new maintenance release?

I just download vbulletinsuite_4-0-2_XXXXXXXX.zip . Not sure why yours doesn't appear.

Hmmm... Did you download it from the link at http://members.vbulletin.com ? All I get is a page refresh...tried it on two computers.

I have downloaded it from that link. Not installed yet.

Found the problem. It's not downloaded from the Download vBulletin link on the left under the heading of Latest Version: 4.0.2 but rather from the License Options block under the link Download vBulletin 4.0 Publishing Suite. Certainly not very intuitive.

You really should ask such questions on vBulletin.com or in a support ticket.
